The Grand Ducal Council of San Francisco was originally founded 50 years ago to serve as a model and support group for those who, because of their lifestyle, are subject to discrimination and rejection by society at large. The organization promotes tolerance, human and civil rights, and cooperation with all facets of the community. The Council provides diverse areas of the San Francisco community with charitable and personal support. Through the years, we have expanded our grants to other worthy groups of the community at large, which may be overlooked by other fundraising organizations in the city. We do not receive support from government resources, but depend on donations from individuals and businesses. Over the past 50 years, our members have raised over $1,000,000, one dollar at a time. In turn, thousands of people's lives have been materially and positively affected because of the kindness and charity of those who have donated over the years. We can't wait to see what the next 50 years bring.
